The Latest From The Lawrence Brothers Info Network: Attention all New Yorkers! Tequila Body Shots will be having a special screening at the Anthology Center on Wed., June 30, 1999, located on the corner of 2nd Ave. and 2nd Street near NY's Bleeker St. (#6) and Second Avenue Stations. The airing will begin at 7 PM with two short films followed by Tequila. This special screening is open to the public. Call the venue for more info. Donna was unsure if it would be a theatrical release or not. She'll let us know. Tequila Body Shots was released in Los Angeles only on May 7, 1999. It opened to mixed reviews although Joey's performance was mostly well received. We will be posting the reviews this weekend. Joey was in NY when the film was released and was unavailable to do press for the opening. For more on the film, check out the News page. Matt just finished filming a new movie of the week up in Vancouver, Canada entitled H.E. Double Hockey Sticks. It will also feature Matt's Boy Meets World co-star Will Friedle. Donna says he will "play an ice hockey dude". (LOL, I had to laugh when she said that one!) :) Bad news... the pictures are still not ready. They have to be re-shot, which means we have to wait for them to be rescheduled. Strike goes back to Hairy Bird! Yes, that's right, Strike is going to be re-released by Dimensions with the original title The Hairy Bird. The studios don't think it received a fair chance so they will release it again. Important address info! It seems that some other websites have an incorrect address posted for contacting the boys. Any address on Rancho Road, in Tarzana or Encino are not the correct addresses. Mrs. Lawrence said that they used to live there, but no longer occupy those addresses. There is one other note Mrs. Lawrence wanted me to clear up. Most of you noticed in the biographies that I had the name Mignogna listed as their real last name. Donna cleared up the name game for me, so here is the scoop from her own words. "Shortly after Joey was born before he went into show business, Joseph Sr. (Joey's dad) had legally changed his own name to Lawrence for his own business purposes. Therefore Donna and young Joey's last name were legally changed as well. Matthew was born a Lawrence as was Andy. There names were never Mignogna." I have changed the bios to remove the name Mignogna per Mrs. Lawrence's request. They are legally Lawrence. The episode of Touched By An Angel on which Joey was on was #1 the week it aired! Even Rosie O'Donnell mentioned it on her show the following day. I think we all agree what a great job Joey did even if his character was not a nice guy. But, I gotta say it... whose idea was it for the bad hair extensions. Sheesh... Management is also getting set to hire some more publicity agents for Joe's album. Hopefully this will mean more exposure here as well as overseas for Joe's music. Please don't forget to keep e-mailing Disney requesting Joe to do a concert. Thanks. A number of fans have e-mailed me wanting to get a hold of Joey's first album. I mentioned this to Donna and she said that any local music store should be able to order in a copy for you. Joey is currently working on the title song for the movie that stars Andy and co-stars Matt called Family Tree. See the details on this movie below. The Lawrences spent the New Year like a lot of people did in New York City. Donna said they had a nice time. Do you think Matt's character gets enough lines? If your like most fans I think you'll agree that BMW doesn't seem to give Matt's character enough of a role even though Matt is one of the most popular actors on the show. Management has asked our help in starting a campaign to let the studio know just how much we like Matt in his role as Jack. Write to the studio below:
Write WE WANT MORE MATT on the front of the envelope. Let's let the studio know how we feel about Matt and the role he plays. Matt definitely deserves more credit and more air time than he has been given. Andy has completed filming another movie called Family Tree. Family Tree is about a small town facing final disaster. Hope seems to come in the form of a contract to build a new plant. One problem, the site chosen is also the home to a several hundred year old oak tree. A lot of local people have ties to it. No one objects to the cutting down of this old tree except one little boy, played by, you guessed it, ANDY! Andy is befriended by an old man played by Cliff Robertson who together with Andy, helps him to try and save the tree. This is a Warner Brothers film and will be a theatrical release. Matt also has a part in this film playing Andy's older brother. And not to be left out, Joey is writing a few songs and will sing on the soundtrack of this film! Truly a family affair! Management has yet to hear from Disney about a concert, so please keep e-mailing Disney at the following address to let them know how much we want Joe to do one. Disney recently conducted a poll of viewers wanting to know what their favorite show on Disney was. Brotherly Love won hands down. Seems kind of unusual that a few fans have recently written to me about hearing something about the possibility of Brotherly Love coming back on the air with new episodes. Even though I thought this was an unlikely scenario, I mentioned it to Donna. She was curiously tight lipped about that. All she would say is anything is possible and that if the fans want the show back on be sure to e-mail Disney and tell them how much you love the show and that we want new episodes. E-mail Brotherly Love here. Joey recently finished filming an independent film with Claudia Schiffer entitled Desperate, But Not Serious. Originally it was thought to be Deadly But Not Serious, but Desperate is the correct wording of the film title. A release date is not known. We'll keep you posted. Matt has completed filming a new movie! It was originally called My Monster but has been changed to Big Monster on Campus. It is an independent feature film. Matt will star in this feature and will play Frank N. Stein. Andy is doing the voice of TJ Detwillier on the Saturday Morning animated kids show RECESS.
